An actual and poorly studied question about COVID-19 is the morphological picture of pathological changes of the gastrointestinal tract. Based on the pathomorphological study of four deceased patients with COVID-19 and published data, it was concluded that an important factor in the development of severe and extreme severe cases of COVID-19 may also damage jejunum in combination with diseases that contribute to the development of portopulmonary hypertension.
