Gender characteristics of the prevalence of clinical forms of chronic periodontitis in dental patients

The aim — to study the gender characteristics of the prevalence of clinical forms of chronic periodontitis in dental patients. Materials and methods. The study included 542 dental patients: 255 men and 287 women. Surveyed were divided into two groups depending on gender. The diagnosis of clinical forms of chronic periodontitis was established on the basis of clinical and radiological examination. Results. 185 (34.13%) patients have various clinical forms of chronic periodontitis: 103 (40.39%) male and 82 (28.57%) female. Conclusions. In male patients, the presence of chronic forms of periodontitis was significantly more frequent compared with female (p=0.005).
