The article identifies common etiological factors of chronic headache, outlines the main clinical features of its various types. Similarities and differences between chronic tension-type headache and chronic migraine were studied, and a group of patients with chronic migraine who experienced daily headaches were characterized. Patients with daily headache may account for up to ⅓ of all patients with chronic migraine and have specific clinical characteristics and more complex pathophysiological mechanisms leading to headache, with a different response to treatment.
