The position of the National Headache Organization on the treatment of migraine

Summary. Migraine is a chronic disorder, which is characterized by recurrent episodes following particular clinical features. Migraine takes by its incidence rate the 3rd place among all the diseases worldwide, it takes the 6th place among the disabling diseases and is one of the leading direct and indirect government expenses. Each day, the updated research data, and medical innovations give the clinicians possibility to apply the newest ways of treating migraine. Thus it highlights the importance of staying up to date with the latest recommendations of the leading organizations, who are focused on headache. On January 19, 2022, the National Headache Foundation, a division of the American Academy of Neurology, published the position on migraine treatment on its official website.
