Summary. Antipyretic treatment is an important component of the complex therapy in children with acute respiratory infections. The goal of antipyretic therapy in acute respiratory infections should not be just a drop in body temperature, but also the improvement of the child’s overall health. Ibuprofen is as effective as paracetamol for pain relief and more effective as an antipyretic agent.
